Dear Sandpiper Members,
We have an important announcement. Your safety is always our top priority. As you may have noticed, every weather channel seems to have its own idea of what is coming this weekend. One station is predicting the biggest snowstorm ever. Another is calling for one inch. At this point, the only thing they agree on is that they do not agree.
What you will not have to guess about is whether you need to put on six layers and dust off the long johns for the banquet. We made that decision for you. The Annual Dinner is officially postponed to March 8.
Now, between us, the weather is only part of the story. The real reason is that one of this year’s award winners needed more time to finish their acceptance speech. Please do not say anything. We would hate to embarrass them.
Everything else remains the same, including the time, the place, and the fun. Doors will open at 12:00 PM. With any luck, the only thing missing that day will be the snow.
We know some of you might say a little snow would never stop you. We appreciate that spirit. However, we must think of every member, including those who travel from farther away. Safety matters for all of us.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you cannot attend on March 8 and have already paid, or if the new date now allows you to attend, please email us at [email protected] with your name and a contact number. Someone will follow up with you.
